Quilt Stand |

The "Ichthus" quilt stand is made from Honduran mahogany with black walnut accents. Gently curving legs forming the sign of the fish are constructed of a seven-layer bentwood lamination. The quilt shown with the stand above was made circa 1915 by Bobbie's great-grandmother. On the left is a side view of the stand without the quilt. The crossmembers, also made of Honduran mahogany, are constructed in a triangular pattern for strength. |

Another view of the stand showing its combination of beauty and strength. It is finished with several hand-rubbed coats of Danish oil. |

A close-up of the black walnut accent, which incorporates the gentle curves of the legs. A leaf made from maple completes the accent. |
